Well, there are a lot of reasons why we need to equip the future generations with 21st century skills for not only for school, but for jobs, life, and society. Getting students prepared in the basic skills like English, History, etc. are only a portion of what else is needed to be learned to be successful in the workplace.
Companies are looking for qualified students with these skills I'm about to introduce to
you. These particular skills are called the 4 C's.

This article expressed their concerns for the entrants in that are coming into the work environment. From high school to four-year college research has shown that there has been a decline in readiness for the workforce, because new workers lack the basic skills and applied skills. This text focuses the percentages of graduate that are ready for the work environment. Employers expressed concern when new entrants come into the workforce; for instance, with professionalism, communication, teamwork, and problem solving. Deficiencies in high school graduates were low in the core subjects (English, Mathematics, and Reading Comprehension). Also, they were deficient in work ethic and oral communications.; but okay, diversity and collaboration. Two to four-year colleges generally tend to more prepared, but still struggle written communication and English. This text offers training and advice on how to improve the low percentages of new workers coming into the workforce.
